The College History

The history of the technical school began in the postwar years when the ruined and excited by the tasks of revival state felt an urgent need for qualified specialists. By the decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Council of People's Commissars of the Ukrainian Soviet Republicon September 26, 1945, the Sumy Technical School of Agricultural Construction was established with its location in Konotop.Yu.M. Ponomarenko was appointed acting director of the technical school (1945-1947). On March 12, 1947, Dryapak M.O. was appointed as a technicalschooldirector.

On June 3, 1947, by order of the Minister of Higher Education of the USSR from 16.05.1947 № 248 and the order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR from 3.06.1947 № 251 Sumy Technical School of Agricultural Construction was renamed Konotop Technical School of Agriculture. Dryapak M.O. was appointed its director. (1947-1976).

The first graduation of young specialists in construction engineering took place in December 1949, and in engineering technology in 1950.

In 1953, in connection with the liquidation of the Department of Rural and Collective Farm Construction under the Council of Ministers of the USSR, all technical schools of agricultural construction were transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR with the preservation of the profile. A year later, the Konotop Technical School was transferred to the USSR's Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction. By order of the Minister of Urban and Rural Construction of the Ukrainian SSR № 426 of September 7, 1955, the Konotop Technical School of Agricultural Construction was renamed from September 1, 1955, to the Konotop Construction Technical School with the main specialty "Industrial and Civil Engineering".

The state constantly reorganized the management of the national economy and organized Councils of National Economy instead of line ministries and departments. The technical school is transferred to the Kharkiv Soviet of National Economy department. By order of the Department of Personnel and Educational Institutions of the KharkivSoviet National Economy № 07/2153 of October 11, 1957, the branch of the evening technical school at the KEMP (Konotop Electro-Mechanical Plant) was transferred to the technical school.

By the Resolution of the Council of National Economy of the KharkivEconomic-Administrative District № 290 of September 4, 1959, the Konotop Construction Technical School was renamed the Konotop Industrial Technical School. At the request of the director of the plant "KEMP" comradeZaitseva V.I. and chief engineer comradeBarzilovich profile of the technical school was changed and the following new specialties were introduced:

- "Manufacture of automation equipment and telemechanics";

- "Electrical Engineering";

- "Metal cutting";

- "Mining Engineering" (taking into account the needs of the city, this specialty was opened in the evening department).

In 1965, according to the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR from 17.12.1965 № 1089 Konotop Industrial Technical School was transferred to the department of the Ministry of Electrical Industry of the USSR. The basic plant of the technical school was the Kyiv Relay and Automation Plant, and in 1967 a branch of the Konotop Industrial Technical School was opened in Kyiv basedon the plant.

To provide the region with engineering and pedagogical staff and expand the network of vocational education institutions by order of the Council of Ministers of the USSR for Vocational Education № 132/404 of 27.11.1970 the college was transferred to the State Committee for Vocational Education of the USSR. Thus begins the history of the technical school in the system of pedagogical education of the state.

By the order of the State Committee for Vocational Education of April 28, 1971, № 47 Konotop Industrial Technical School was renamed into Konotop Industrial and Pedagogical Technical School of the State Committee of the USSR Council of Ministers for Vocational Education. The main task of the institution was to train masters of industrial training in new specialties:

* "Industrial and civil construction";

* "Electrical equipment of industrial enterprises and installations";

* "Agricultural mechanization".

From 1976 to 1978 the technical school was headed by Rudakov O.M. During this period, foreign students from Mongolia, Cuba, Algeria, and Vietnam studied at the college.

From 1979 to 1996 the educational institution was headed by KalinichenkoV.F. It is then that the material and technical base is updated; offices, laboratories are equipped with modern equipment, technical means, didactic materials; theauto-tractor fleet is equipped with new modern equipment. The sphere of cultural and mass work is expanding: brass band, vocal and instrumental ensemble, circles of technical creativity, amateur art, sports sections. For achievements and successes in training specialists in 1995, the technical school was awarded a diploma from the Ministry of Education.

From 1996 to 2014, the school was headed by Bendersky Mikhail Ananiyovych. Reorganization in the state, reform in education required hard work on the approval and development of the educationalinstitution sector of the technical school and headteacherBilyk L.G.directed the activities of the teaching staff taking into account the requirements of the restructuring of the education system. As a result: the specialization of "Vocational Training" was expanding, the following specialties were licensed:

* "Welding production" 1997

* "Mechanization of Agriculture" 2000

* "Construction and operation of buildings and structures"

 In 2000new specialties were opened:

* "Economics of Enterprise" 1999

* "Finance" 2000

* "Programming" 2005

* "Social work" 2006

* Distance education in the specialty "Agricultural Mechanization" (1999).

In the new socio-economic conditions, the requirements for the level of culture and organization of pedagogical work of the master of industrial training are growing, the need for training specialists in new areas of integrated professions to work in vocational schools is increasing. Based on these tasks, the teaching staff of Konotop Industrial Pedagogical College directs its activities to ensure a high level of training of future masters of industrial training, their competitiveness, mobility, creative activity in a market economy.

In today's market conditions, high demands are placed on the quality, regularity, and reliability of transport links, thesafety of transportation of passengers and goods, car maintenance. There is a growing need for car service companies with modern diagnostics and highly qualified specialists.

For this purpose, new modern specialties were opened in the technical school:

* "Professional education. Computer Technologies”, 2012

* "Maintenance and repair of cars and engines", 2012

By the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 30 of 19.01.2004, 2.02.2004 the Industrial and Pedagogical College was reorganized into the Industrial and Pedagogical College by joining the Konotop Institute of Sumy State University.

The contingent of technical school students is formed basedon basic secondary education, complete general secondary education from among students of schools in Konotop and the region; Vocational school graduates from 15 regions of Ukraine.

Practical training of students of IPC KI Sumy State University takes place at the basic enterprises of the city and Konotop district with which long-term contracts for internships are concluded. Graduates undergo internships at enterprises where they are sent to work for adapting to production processes.

For more than 6.5 decades of its existence, the Industrial and Pedagogical College of the Konotop Institute of Sumy State University has passed a difficult and honorable path. Today it is a state higher educational institution of the I level of accreditation, which graduates specialists in 10 specialties and areas, the main task of which is training by the state order and contractual obligations of low specialization for specialists in various fields of industry, agriculture and vocational system education. The technical school has become one of the leading institutions for the training of masters of industrial training.

For significant contribution to the development of the image of education and science of Ukraine, the technical school was awarded in 2009 the Diploma "Leaders of Education and Science of Ukraine".

Today, the team faces difficult challenges caused by significant changes in the state, namely: the new Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education", which aims to optimize the network of state higher education institutions. And we must take a worthy place in it, preserving and improving our teaching staff. The College should work to improve the quality of educational services by introducing new information, telecommunication technologies, interactive forms, and methods of teaching by the integration into the European educational space while preserving national achievements and traditions.
